Un endroit pas simple à trouver sachant qu’il y a seulement une affiche et juste derrière l’escalier pour descendre dans cette endroit très sympa ! Un patron toujours à fond entre l’accueil, le service, les pizzas à préparer, et surtout sa bonne humeur. On a adoré pour cette première visite à Chamonix ! On recommande sans hésiter 🤪. Les bretons en Harley ✌️

Une vraie surprise ! Juste l’entrée à ne pas louper. Pizzas très bonnes, ambiance au top… avec une playlist rock’n’roll qui met direct dans le mood. Et un patron incroyable, partout à la fois qui court plus qu’il ne marche ! Une énergie folle sans jamais perdre le sourire. Merci pour cette superbe dernière soirée à Chamonix ! Jacques. Le Belge 😎

This restaurant is truly beautiful and authentic. The owner is very talented and runs the restaurant solo from what we could see. The food is so tasty and really reasonably priced. Please definitely give this a try if you are looking for great Italian food.

Wow! What an amazing hidden gem! We nearly missed it at first as it’s a small door in between two other restaurants. It was very affordable and you can tell the owner takes pride in his business. He runs the whole show from the bar, pizza oven and also the kitchen and table service. He’s truly amazing! 10/10 service too. We had cocktails, beers, pizzas and deserts and all were amazing! And the pizzas were €12-€15. The dame blanc desert was amazing too. A lovely calm atmosphere and you don’t feel rushed or hassled! Highly recommend to anybody visiting chamonix, you will not be disappointed.

This place is a hidden gem! Really cool interior and well priced. I'm assuming it was the owner.. he was running the entire restaurant just himself and doing a great job! He has a smashing set up and clearly works so hard every day. Would highly recommend when visiting Chamonix ! 🫶🙂

Super découverte au cœur de Chamonix ! Le Caveau porte parfaitement son nom : une ancienne cave à vin pleine de charme, ambiance chaleureuse et authentique. On s’y sent bien dès l’entrée. Les pizzas au feu de bois sont excellentes, généreuses et parfaitement cuites. Les enfants se sont régalés autant que moi ! Mention spéciale pour l’accueil : patron souriant, sympa, simple et efficace — ça fait vraiment plaisir. Une adresse comme on les aime, où on a envie de revenir et qu’on recommande sans hésiter.

Very nice and calm atmosphere. The owner takes care of the guests and prepares the food all by himself, he is really kind too. We ordered both lasagnas and pizzas, food was excellent.

We visited mid-week and hadn’t booked. We were seated straight away and moved when a booth table became available. The atmosphere was warm and cosy. The food was delicious and the service was great considering Philipe was working alone. It was so reasonable. We’d highly recommend this restaurant.

The place is great, great atmosphere, warm (exactly what you are looking for in cold Chamonix) and the pizzas are fantastic. Thin, tasty and good size. We went for the Marcello and the Reine and they were superb. The owner is great and manages the place by himself. Quality and affordable. 5 stars.

We have been coming to Chamonix as a couple for over 10 years and we will never come skiing here without dining at this restaurant. The pizzas are the best in the town, it has a relaxed and cozy atmosphere and the staff are recognisable, friendly, and welcoming every time we visit. Cannot rate it more highly, will be back next year!

I don't even want to give 1 star to this restaurant, It was the worst experience I regret eating in here. Firstly when we entered in the restaurant he stopped us at the gate even tho restaurant was empty and then he gave us a table to and when we asked to change the table he denied. Secondly, when I asked him is it is 6 slice or 4 slice pizza, he just drew on his paper and told maybe 100 if small pieces. When the order came the Pizza was not even cut into pieces and when I asked for origano it was given in coffe cup. Pizza was tasteless, overcooked and when I asked for take away he gave me a piece foil for us to pack it ourself. He was not even noticing us when we asked for take away. Please don't visit this restaurant it's worst.

Best Atmosphere ND Worst Experience. The guy who owns/ works there in the service have a mentality like he doesn't even want to serve the Food. Even all the tables are empty. We didn't even had the freedom to chose the desired table. The food was also - Tasteless. Not advisable.

The owner was very rude… he ignored us when we ask nicely for beverages and he pretended he didn’t understand french or english (when he spoke to us in english in first place). After we forgot our gloves and we came back, he already stole it from us. Tourists, just avoid the place.

The waiter who runs the place is rude if you are speaking anything other than French. He is straight up unprofessional. Food was average, not to mention same 3 songs play on the radio for eternity.

Highly recommend going here for dinner if you are in Chamonix. It has an incredible atmosphere and really well priced food and drink. We ordered two pizzas, two drinks and a dessert for €40. The owner works alone at the restaurant but manages to get food and drink out to you in a timely manner, he was extremely welcoming - a great host.

Het is een geweldige plek. Naast het heerlijke eten wat heel betaalbaar is, is de sfeer er heerlijk. De man is een goede gastheer en zorgt voor een fijne sfeer met zijn muziek. Je kan er makkelijk voor 10 euro per persoon eten. Leuk voor een date maar ook met het hele gezin. Het is voor iedereen leuk! Echt een aanrader!

Garlic bread is a must have if you come here! The guy running the whole place on his own was super friendly even though we spoke no French. Will definitely be back.

I feel like I was scammed by this pizzeria in Chamonix ! The pizza was disappointing, with a dry crust and flavorless sauce. It's frustrating to waste money on such a poor dinning experience. Save money and find a better place.

I can only advise you to avoid this pizzeria ! The pizza was far from impressive : the crust was too dry and the sauce was tasteless, as if i t came straight form a can. For a culinary experience in Chamonix, skip this place and look for better options !

Hier heen gegaan voor pizza en door de goede reviews. Het was even zoeken, de ingang is een deur met een trap naar beneden de 'grot' in. Geweldige sfeer met heerlijke pizza's uit de houtoven. Prijs kwaliteit is prima in orde. Het was wel wat benauwd in de grot, misschien door de warme dag (30+ graden). Wel voor herhaling vatbaar.

El peor lugar, el dueño un mal educado. No habla bien y trata mal. No venir a este lugar. La atención es pésima. Y la pizza de muy mala calidad.

Super adresse à Chamonix ! J’ai mangé une pizza trois fromages , et c’était un vrai régal : pâte fine, cuisson parfaite, fromages fondants et bien dosés. Mention spéciale pour le coca bien frais, parfait après une journée en montagne. Service rapide et cadre sympa. Je recommande sans hésiter !

This restaurant is literally in a cave, and was previously a sheep pen and a night club. The food was great, the wine inexpensive, and the one guy who seemed to be doing everything at the restaurant was a hustler — very impressive. We had a four cheese pizza and a vegetarian lasagna (pictured, half eaten). Be prepared to wait and don’t expect to be fawned over, and you should have a great time. I think max parties of four.

Une expérience catastrophique du début à la fin. Le service était inexistant : il a fallu attendre 30 minutes pour qu'on daigne nous apporter la carte, et encore 45 minutes pour recevoir des plats froids et immangeables. La qualité de la nourriture était lamentable : viande trop cuite, légumes défraîchis, et desserts industriels servis comme faits maison. L'hygiène laissait également à désirer, avec des tables collantes et des toilettes sales. À fuir absolument !

Had an amazing pizza probably the best one I’ve ever had! I had the speciale and my partner had the reine (photos attached). One man doing serving and cooking, was incredible to see him work and make the pizzas and serve the bar and wait the tables. Amazing. For the quality of the food the price is phenomenal! €12 for speciale and €11 for the reine. I expected the bill to be so much more than it was. Lovely vibe inside its genuinely like an old school cave pub turned pizzeria. Would highly recommend visiting this restaurant if you are in Chamonix Mont Blanc. A well deserved 5* Bravo! We were a party of 10 and the restaurant was empty which was concerning enough. There was a dog running around the restaurant and it smelt of cigarettes. Once the owner knew our party size we were told rudely to leave and he ushered us back up the stairs. I would not recommend eating here at all, it smelt dirty and customer service is atrocious

unfortunately our party of 5 was turned away quickly during very normal hours (8:30-9). host did not care to explain why (he mumbled something in french, none of us understood). very disappointing, we were looking forward to it!

El lugar está un poco escondido, pero vale la pena. Es algo diferente, pero vale la pena. De entrada pedimos el man con ajo y queso 10/10, por muy simple que sea, vale la pena. Después una pizza estaba normal 7/10, y una lasagna para mí fue un 9/10 y para mi pareja un 7/10 porque tenía un sabor dulce, pero para mí estuvo muy rica. En otros comentarios leí que había mal servicio, pero fue de los lugares que mejor nos atendieron atentos y amables.

Went there 2nd time (: usually I don’t go 2nd time to the same place if I’m in vacation, and yet this place is so warming to me I went again, for trying another pizza, I met their dog(: & doggy + good pizza+nice music again made my day… I should add I prefer Felipe’s oven pizza to Italian pizza( hope my Italian friends will forgive me) 🤭 Old review: Totally 5 star, from delicious French style pizza to clean bathroom, 300 years old cave design, interior with vitrage details. Cozy and peaceful. Had 2 different type of pizza, and I strongly recommend to have 4 cheese pizza(with French cheeses) it’s called 4 fromages. And add rocket salad (rucola) on top of that pizza. The pizza was ok, but the lasagne was very sweet. I am not sure if it was intentional to serve sweet lasagne but i never had such a sweet lasagne Bolognese. The price for the food was reasonable but i personally wouldn’t come back as the food tasted off.

De loin le meilleur restaurant niveau rapport qualité / prix à Chamonix. Je n'ai que de bonnes choses à dire à propos de ce restaurant. Les pizzas sont absolument délicieuses, cuites au feu de bois. L'huile pimentée a un très bon goût sans être trop pimentée. La serveuse qui nous a reçu est très sympathique. Le chef (et propriétaire?) est très abordable et drôle. Et en plus il y a un grand chien. C'est vraiment une nourriture et un service excellent et sans prétention. On est reçu comme si on était à la maison. Le chef n'est pas caché derrière une porte mais là devant nous dès qu'on entre.

L’adresse que je ne manque jamais quand je passe à Chamonix ! À l’abri des foules de touristes, de très bonnes pizzas pour des prix plus que raisonnables et un service adorable et chaleureux !

I’d give it zero if I could. The food is ok but too bad the server/owner was a total rude nasty person! Service was horrible. The person who served us leaves you with a bad taste even though the food was tolerable. Oh plus his big dog roams around the kitchen area… not sure if it’s clean. Never come back!!!

This not easiest place to find. On the outside is just a big menu board and on the wall small arrows pointing for entrance. But when you find it and got in first the owner’s dog will welcome you in and notify owner that there is customers. Then the menu, it got nice selection of pizzas and some lasagnes. I got the California and my better half Hawaii. Both pizzas were super delicious but very small minus is that the Hawaii pizzas endges were just a bit too hard so not very easy to cut. Both pizzas tasted super delicious, one pizzas I have ever eaten. Last nice touch was that the owner played the whole Pink Floyd The Wall album (from a quite nice sound system). What I overheard heard everybody else on neighbouring tables also appreciated this. I would recommend everybody to go and give this place a try!

Very nice atmosphere

Probably the best pizza we had outside Italy. We really enjoyed the Calzone, Lasagna (and some other pizzas). Good things take time, enjoy a drink and wait for it !

We were returning to this restaurant after first sampling its menu a few years ago. The food has simply deteriorated with a lack of choice. Waiter was not particularly friendly and we spoke in French but he was not interested. His dog who was very cute was perhaps too close to an already shoddy food prep area. The waiter/ cook/barman did ask if we minded another dog being near us from another diner! I’m not sure but a woman who seemed very familiar with the restaurant and perhaps works there, was looking over with a rather unfortunate look? This place used to be buzzing it’s such a shame. The food was actually disgusting and the coke flat! Not offered ice or water for the table. I ended up rushing to the loo there( which was actually clean enough) I was very ill on the return to our hotel, I agree with other reviews making the point of the obvious distain of any customers other than Fr

What a wonderful experience in Chamonix! It's in a cave that's over 300 yrs old! The owner is great and the food is A+. I am not a huge pasta person and I got the lasagna bolognese and it was amazing! My husband (which eats lasagna frequently) said it was in the top of all lasagna he's had before. Kids had the pizza, which they also gave 5 stars! I would highly recommend it and will go back next time in Chamonix!

Very cool cave atmosphere, great pizza, and wonderful service from our host/waiter/cook. The pizza is thin and crispy with a lot of great options for toppings. If deep dish pizza is more your style, you may not like it. The owner is very nice and a bit quirky. If you get easily offended by people who are a little quirky, you may not have the same experience. Would recommend if you're looking for a down to earth, cozy, unique dining experience at a reasonable price!

Que dire??? Déjà lors de la réservation par téléphone la personne n’était pas sympathique du tout. Je commande 2 pizzas pour 19h30 car la personne me dis que ce n’est pas possible plus tard. Quand mon mari va les chercher à 19h30 il s’est fait ouspiller car la commande était prévue pour 19h45! Pizzas trop cuites, insipides, garniture à chercher à la loupe. Je ne recommande absolument pas!

Le Caveau is a standout! Amazing food made in house with fresh ingredients cooked by wood-fired oven; impressive service, cooking, bartending AND DJ’ing from the chef extraordinaire; a historic, cozy underground atmosphere; affordable prices—and an adorable dog to top it off (our friend Skipper). Some of the best food we had in Chamonix (including the fancier/more expensive options). We love Le Caveau! You probably will too ;)

My friends and I have eaten here a couple of times during our stay here in Chamonix. There are plenty of great dining options here, but theres a reason we keep coming back to Le Caveau: great food that is very affordable, awesome energy from our host, a great dog that welcomes you down into the restaurant, and even awesome tunes. You can’t go wrong here.

Pedimos dos pizzas para cenar, pensado que tenía terraza pedimos para cenar fuera, al ver que no tenía terraza le dijimos que si podíamos cenar dentro, la respuesta fue negativa y de muy malas formas, incluso haciendo mofas con otra persona ajena hacia nuestra persona. El restaurante casi vacío. Viendo el tamaño de las pizzas minúsculas, decidíamos pedir otra, su respuesta fue otra vez negativa,borde y de muy malas formas, no entendimos que después de pedir dos pizzas 10 mimitos después pedir una tercera nos dice que no y más siendo un mal educado y borde con nosotros. Pagamos por educación y nos fuimos, sinceramente no recomendó este sitio por ser una persona bastante borde y mal educada,trato fatal, pizzas pequeñas . Parece ser que trato bastate malo si no eres frances, una pena.

Je recommande vivement ce très chouette restaurant 👏🍕

Je ne comprends pas les avis positifs de cet établissement. Des lasagnes aux pizzas, rien ne va. Les lasagnes sont semblables à des couches de carton empilées, la texture et le goût des pizzas laisse vraiment à désirer, les assemblages ne fonctionnent pas, c’est sec, sans garniture… nous ne reviendrons pas, pour sûr.

A chaque fois que nous venons sur Chamonix, nous venons au caveau et nous ne sommes jamais déçu !! La croûte savoyarde est très bonne, les pizza aussi avec une pâte assez fine 👌. Serveur très sympathique 😊

Je n'arrive pas à comprendre comment ce restaurant peut être aussi bien noté, l'enfer j'ai rarement aussi mal mangé... J'avais commandé des lasagnes je n'ai même pas mangé 1/4 du plat, sèche +++ et sans saveurs, quant au pizza n'en parlons pas... aucun.e.s de mes ami.e.s n'ont réussi à finir celle-ci... La note était bien évidemment très élevé, surtout pour la qualité de leur cuisine... Je ne recommande vraiment pas ce restaurant.

A lovely pizzeria in a stone cave. I love thin crispy pizza so this was right up my alley. The staff was super friendly and spoke English and French. Very quick to serve and did a great job juggling a lot of orders at once. We had the Le Caveau and Végétarienne pizzas which were delicious. We also saw the Lasagna bolognese come out and it looked just as good! Atmosphere is casual and romantic - a perfect evening. Highly recommend!

Superbe restaurant, très bel intérieur, très bon accueil, serveuse très gentille. Je conseille car leurs pizzas sont excellentes. Les tables sont très bien disposées pour manger en tête à tête. À la fin de notre repas nous avons pu discuter avec ce monsieur qui nous a très bien accueilli nous avons passé une très bonne soirée.

Si vous voulez vivre l'ambiance d'un surveillant de pénitencier allez y. Je demande juste de couper les pizzas vu qu'elles sont à emporter, réponse de la personne : non, je suis là pour les préparer pas les couper. Et pour couronner le tout j'ai retrouvé un bout d'emballage dans la pizza, photo à l'appui. Ils ont de la chance que je sois en vacances sinon j'envoyais le service d'hygiène.

Such a cozy dining room. The pizza was tasty and the chef, waiter, cashier did everything by himself with his adorable dog keeping watch.

Une honte En vacance sur chamonix nous voulions manger une pizza ce lundi soir En cherchant sur Google j’ai trouvé des avis plus que positifs sur cette pizzeria Des avis trompeurs En arrivant sur place j’ai eu un doute et ces derniers ce sont confirmés en arrivant à l’hotel avec les pizza Une pâte trop cuite limite cramé , Des produits sans aucune saveur , Après une bouché mon épouse et moi avons été dégoûté. Malheureusement elles ont fini à la poubelle. Comment jeter 25 euros par la fenêtre La prochaine fois autant aller au Super U Notre soirée pizza fut un vrai cauchemars.

Honestly I didn’t expect it to be that good. I was amazed by the calzone with the perfect egg inside, with an intact yolk that started running when I cut it. We also tried a pizza which was equally good. The atmosphere is also very unique and the prices totally reasonable, if not cheap. I couldn’t recommend this more.

Très bonnes pizzas pâte fine au feu de bois: produits frais et prix très correct 37euros à 2 avec boissons et petite bouteille de vin. Serveur très sympathique et convivial. Situé dans une ancienne cave à vin aux murs de pierre au sous-sol, on y est très bien installé sur de grandes banquettes en mousse. Seul bemol: il manquerait un peu d'éclairage.

We stumbled upon this restaurant and honestly had low expectations, but it would have exceeded even the highest. Every ingredient is cut fresh to order and the sauce is homemade from scratch. The service was wonderful and it is apparent that they take pride in what they do. Don't let the exterior fool you; this is a gem. This was the best pizza I have had in a very long time.

J'y étais de passage avec ma copine début de semaine passée. Les lieux sont magnifiques, la cuisine est très bonne, les prix sont plus que corrects pour chamonix, la musique est bonne, et la patron breton d'origine est vraiment cool ! J'y repasserais ! Restaurant atypique dans une cave . Pas facile a trouver (on peut passer devant sans s'en rendre compte). Ambiance romantique et feutrée , chaque table étant séparée par un petit paravent en vitraux. Une oasis de calme au coeur du centre ville bruyant de Chamonix (il y avait peu de clients quand nous y sommes allés ). Pizza , lasagnes veggie et un excellent tiramisu au dessert. Tout était bon. Nous avons même pu échanger quelques bavardages avec le patron qui a été fort sympathique . Les prix sont tout à fait correct . Bref, je recommande chaudement cet établissement .

Monsieur a l'accueil aigri, aucun sens de l'accueil. Horaires fausses sur Google: ne vous attendez pas à vous faire servir un plat à minuit, le gentil monsieur aura déjà fermé

If you know what goood pizza is - avoid eating pizza in this pizzeria. We were disappointed by the quality of pizzas. The atmosphere was very goood though.

The place was very cozy. The wine was excellent. The sauce of the pizza was a little too salty for me. However, after you add the spicy oil, it tasted better.

Sans contexte, la meilleure pizzeria de Chamonix et à un rapport qualité prix très intéressant. Ils prennent les réservations, sont accueillants, forts sympathiques et font tout maison. Le chef a un vrai four au feu de bois. La pâte des pizzas est particulièrement croustillante et les pizzas sont bien garnies avec des ingrédients de qualité. Nous vous recommandons très vivement ce caveau qui n’est pas forcément très visible de la rue principale.

This restaurant is literally in a small cave. It was quite dark but the food was amazing. The pizza was asome and big and the garlic break with cheese was too good as well. It seems they could be understaffed when they are busy but since we got there right when they opened, our food came out pretty fast. I couldn't find pasta in the menu which it would have been nice.

Nous avons débuté par des cocktails très bien équilibrés. Viennent ensuite les pizzas et nous n'avons pas été déçu! Bien garnies avec une pâte excellente ni trop fine ni trop épaisse, copieuses juste comme il faut. Le tout pour un prix plus que correct en plein centre de Chamonix. Une excellente découverte que nous vous conseillons si vous êtes sur le secteur !

Une pizzéria étonnante à tous égards : presque invisible dans la rue et nichée en sous-sol sous de vieilles voûtes, elle vous propose des pizzas variées et d’une rare qualité. Pourtant en plein cœur de Chamonix, les prix, de surcroît, y sont très raisonnables. Bravo !

Très belle adresse, intimiste et un peu cachée... Enfin un resto sur Cham' où manger une vraie pizza avec une taille normale, des ingrédients de qualité et du goût ! On descend des escaliers antidérapants et on est d'emblée accueilli par un gentil aboiement . De beaux vitraux à l'ancienne ,lumière douce ,les pierres de la voûte aux brillances de mica ,banquettes confortables . Une belle découverte ( merci Google) qui a permis d'échapper aux foules débordantes des terrasses et à la malbouffe qui y règne.Car il y a pizza et PIZZA.Et celle du caveau est exquise : ce n'est pas un gros tas de pâte avec 4 tomates et une tonne de fromage. La pizza végétarienne commandée était délicieuse,de bons légumes sur une pâte fine et croustillante , déposée devant nous avec attention.Félicitations au chef👏. Et aussi merci à celui qui a choisi la musique ,ça changeait des gros tubes bruyants .En plus on a profité de tout ça pour nous tout seuls . Nous avons profité d'une très bonne détente gastronomique au Caveau . Je vous conseille d'ess

Super tasty pizza and nice atmosphere! We were in Chamonix for the week and on Saturday the whole town exploded because of the weather so we couldn't get in to any of our usual spots. I haven't been to Le Caveau in years but we popped in and got a table immediately. The pizza was great, lovely thin base, crispy crust, perfect. We each had different pizzas and they all came quickly. It was super quiet compared with the other restaurants around town so I think just a lot of people don't know it's there but it was a great escape from the crowds! Great food, beautiful building. I'll be back.

Nice setting - good prices, food was ok, not great but also not bad - for the price it was good for Cham standards. Would be a good place to eat before heading into town with some friends.

Second time here. This nice restaurant somehow is hidden under the radar so it’s not that crowded. The food and drinks and the ambiance are all quite good. Recommend.

Extremely rude personnel! Also there was a large hairy dog in the restaurant next to the kitchen which was extremely disgusting. Trust me, never go there.

30 janvier 2022 Petite adresse cachée dans un recoin que nous n'avons pas regretté d'avoir découvert avec ma compagne. Les plats, préparés et cuits avec soin. Mention spéciale pour la sauce accompagnant l'entrecôte. Merci pour ce bon moment

Endroit magnifique avec une ambiance chaleureuse. Accueil et service excellent. Nourriture excellente et prix très abordable. Patron qui à du mérite car travail seul et s'en sort parfaitement, très professionnel Je lui tire mon chapeau. Bon courage pour la suite.
